CoQ10 and the Immune System

Our immune system is very complex and is under the control of several factors. Many of the nutrients have an important role in modulating the immune function and CoQ10 is one of the important ones (Bliznakov, 1987). Adequate CoQ10 status is necessary for the proper functioning of our immune system. This may help explain the beneficial effects of CoQ10 supplementation in many conditions such as periodontal disease, cancer, and HIV infection and AIDS.
